Our doctors are all vocationally registered through the RACGP. This means we have a commitment to general practice and to continuing education.

All the medical receptionists in the practice can help you with making appointments and with any problems especially with regards to fees and forms.

 FEES:

There is a $45 co-payment for medical consultations for patients. All patients holding a Pension or Veterans Affairs Card will be  BULK BILLED for all consultations providing they have a valid Medicare card.

For any patient not having a Medicare card and for all worker’s compensation and TAC cases, there is a $125 payment for the initial consultation and $85 for any subsequent consultation.

The Doctors will always endeavor to inform you of any additional out of pocket expenses which you may incur for medications, specialist visits, tests and procedures.

This practice accepts all major Credit Cards/ Eftpos/ Cash for payment.

 APPOINTMENTS:

We operate on an appointment only basis. Bookings can be made by phoning reception or online via HotDoc.

 Patients are completely free to see the doctor of their Choice.

If you need a longer consultation or if you have an urgent medical complaint, please tell the receptionist when you make your appointment.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, patients are requested to please ring the surgery to cancel.

HOME VISITS:

If you are unwell and physically unable to come to the surgery, we can visit you at home. Requests for house calls are best made before 10am. Visits can also be arranged for patients in nursing homes and special accommodation homes.

TELEPHONE CALLS:

The Doctors will take phone messages relating to your or your family’s health. Please do not ring until after the first hour of the surgery session if at all possible. Doctors will call you with any urgent results.

PATIENT RECORDS

All patients’ consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential. Access to your password protected electronic health records is only available to the appropriate medical staff.

REMINDER SYSTEM:

WestMed has a Recall system which sends SMS messages or letters to patients to remind them to attend for follow-up of various medical conditions. Urgent medical results are followed up by the treating doctor who will call the patient.

 CONFIDENTIALITY:
ALL Patient’s health information is handled with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with the privacy statement posted in the surgery waiting room.
